Due to social distancing restrictions for Covid-19, pet therapy visits are suspended and these classes are on hold.
Canine Good Citizen Prep and Testing
This course will prepare you and your dog to take the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. The CGC test was designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The focus will be on all the CGC test items and proofing your dog’s skills. This 6-week course will include the CGC test to be schedule after the completion of the course.
Requirements: Your dog should have completed a Basic Obedience course or already have a reliable sit, down, stay, recall and loose leash walking skills.
Pet Therapy Prep Class
Does your well-mannered dog love strangers? Do you like to volunteer your time and make people smile? Do you want to share your love for dogs and your dog’s love with like-minded people who don’t have that opportunity? Then you are a Therapy Dog team in the making.
Don't know where to start? The Pet Therapy Prep Class will help you prepare to become a certified therapy dog team. In this 6-week course, you will review behaviors that will help move your dog forward in therapy dog training.
Before taking this class, students should have successfully competed a Basic Obedience class. Dogs should be at least 10 months of age at the start of the class. Rescue dogs should be with their owners at least 6 months.
