Covid-19 Policy

Please read below for our best ”best practices,” which are the minimum required and apply to private and semi-private lessons and group classes

Scheduling

• Payments MUST be made upon registration in order to secure a spot in the class. Due to the social distancing restrictions, class participation is going to be strictly limited and therefore we cannot hold a spot without payment.

• All lessons, classes and appointments will be scheduled with adequate time for the previous client/class to be completely out of the training area before the next client/class enters.

• Since we do not have separate entrances for entering and leaving the building, students will wait upstairs until their class start time and the instructor will come up to lead them into the classroom.

Signage

Signage regarding protocols and procedures will be visibly posted at the entrance to the training facility, as well communicated to all registered students via email. These must include but are not limited to:

• Do not enter if you have had contact with anyone exhibiting symptoms of the COVID-19 virus in the last 14 days.

• Do not enter if you or anyone in your household is exhibiting symptoms of the COVID-19 virus or is in quarantine for possible exposure to the COVID-19 virus.

• All State of NJ social distancing protocols are in effect.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE

• Face coverings will be required for students in group classes as they enter and exit the training facility. A 6‘ minimum distance between students must be maintained at all times. If possible, the operator will provide markings, gates, etc. to facilitate social distancing.

• Face coverings will be required for students in group classes at all times.

• Face coverings will be required by instructors during group classes.

Class Sizes and Activity Restrictions

• All students and dogs from a class must be completely out of the training area before the next class can enter.

• Class sizes must be limited so as to comply with all CDC and NJ group size and social distancing protocols.

• One handler/owner per dog. Additional family members, friends, observers, etc. may not participate at this time.

• To minimize the possibility of violating social distancing standards, no social interaction between dogs allowed

• To minimize the amount of “common surfaces”, students must bring all their own personal training items. These items should be minimized and where possible must be able to be contained in a single “training bag”. All items must be removed when the student/client leave

• Students are not allowed to share training equipment or dog treats.

• Students will be required to provide their own water & bowl for their dog. They may not use the sink to fill their dog’s water bowl.

• All equipment that is provided by the instructor and comes in contact with a student will be disinfected after each student and between classes

Common Areas (other than the training area), includes Parking Areas

• Students will not be allowed to congregate in any entry way, exit or other common space before or after their lesson/class.

• Students must maintain social distancing protocols at all times while on the training facility property including while exercising their dog before and after lessons/classes.

• Students must not congregate in the parking area or at any place on the property before or after their lesson/class.

• Hand sanitizer will be made readily available by the operator throughout the facility, particularly at entrances.

• Common surfaces will be sanitized by the operator between classes; this includes door knobs, gate latches, etc. As an added precaution, students will be encouraged to bring their own disinfectant wipes when they come to class so they are able to wipe down any door knob, gate latch etc. before they touch it to enter the facility.

Specific Health Monitoring Requirements for Instructors

• All instructors will be required to monitor their temperature daily. If they have a fever, they will cancel all classes/lessons immediately and notify all students.

• If an instructor or a member of their household exhibits any signs of illness consistent with the COVID-19 virus, they will immediately cancel all classes and follow the NJ CDC‘s recommendations for reporting and self-quarantine.
